Ertha Lava — better known as Forest Homes — is a standout eco-conscious retreat nestled on Pico Island’s north coast in the village of Terralta, Azores, offering travelers a unique blend of local charm and modern comfort. This village-style resort features fourteen self-catering cottages ranging from one to three bedrooms, each with open-plan kitchens, sun terraces with sweeping Atlantic views, and contemporary interiors built from local lava stone. The property’s top-tier amenities include a heated swimming pool overlooking São Jorge Island, a dedicated yoga room, onsite Magma Restaurant, a craft shop, and a small grocery store for convenient stays.

  Refunds for deposits
  We will hold your spot as soon as you put down your deposit. However, if you decide to cancel your trip, we will be unable to refund your deposit.

  • Refunds for balance payment
    If you cancel your trip on or before May 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM local time (GMT +2), you will get a refund of the remaining balance. This may or may not include the deposit amount. See deposit refund section above.

  • If you cancel your trip from May 2, 2026 at 12:00 AM local time (GMT +2) onwards, no refunds will be issued.
